Overview
This 30 in. log grapple turns a skid steer or compact track loader into a log and brush handler. It is built for picking up logs, brush, rock and scrap and moving them around a farm, acreage or job site, where a bucket would just push the material around or scoop up dirt with it.
What it does
- Opens to 42 in. and clamps down with a hydraulic cylinder arm.
- Holds loads up to 3,000 lb.
- Slides over the ground on a flat bottom without tearing up the surface.
- Lets dirt sift through a double tine bottom.
- Uses greasable pins and bushings for routine maintenance.
What your machine needs
Your machine needs a universal skid steer quick attach plate. The claw needs an auxiliary hydraulic circuit and works at an operating pressure of 3,000 psi; hydraulic hoses and flat-face couplers are included. The Pallet Fork Replacement
If you are sick and tired of using standard pallet forks to handle your logs which just end up falling off then you need this. The SLG30 can handle multiple logs at a time allowing for hassle free loading and handling. It’s even better for blocking firewood as there’s plenty of working room for cutting. Highly recommended for the average firewood cutter or professional who handles long logs.

Just what I needed
I was looking for a log grapple for my Bobcat 743 skid steer and needed something not too heavy as my lifting capacity is limited. This unit fit the bill perfectly. It's reasonably priced and works very well. I've used it for clearing brush, stock-piling firewood trees, and loading saw logs on my log deck.
After a short learning curve I was able to sneak under logs laying together on the ground or pick one out of the pile with ease. It does everything I would expect.
There are two suggestions I would make as far as design:
1) Implement some sort of retaining device to route the hoses through that keeps them from getting pinched in the ram as it closes or hooked by a stray branch and dragged off to the side (I'm using bungee cords but they don't stand up for long).
2) Weld a ½" piece of pipe as a shield around the grease fittings to protect them from being broken off by impact with stray branches or debris (I broke one off in the first hour of use).
All in all, a great value. My only regret is that I didn't buy it years ago.
