60" Tow-Behind 3 Point Finish Mower, 20-40 HP Compact Tractor, PTO Drive Shaft Included, TMG-TFN60

Purchased the 60" for my JD 3025E. My first season mowing a mix of natural grasses and seeded areas. Approximately 4 acres in total. A bit of experimenting but running it at 430 rpm (pto) / 2000 on the engine seems to be my preference. Perhaps a little slow but its giving a clean cut taking it down from 4-5" to 2". Even in heavy areas I have yet to see it drop to less than 410 rpm.
A note on prepping it. The spindles were greased, but top it up. I used almost a full cartridge to load it.
Lacking in design is the ability to roll laterally but it does follow the terrain decently in pitch. My setup allows +/- 12 degrees. And so far its not been and issue but again its only a 60".
On a +30 day for 3 hours of mowing the gearbox gets warm but never hot.
It will mow in reverse but in heavy grass it eventually binds up. Dry, short grass not an issue.
The surprise today was how well it took down some damp 6-8" grass. It was a low area last months rains kept me away from. But after a day of drying a second pass will have it back in shape.
Overall I'm happy with the purchase. Its solid and gives a cut almost equal to my riding mower.

The unit was well packaged and the customer service experience while going through the purchasing and shipping was a very good. All the reps were polite and friendly. Following the assembly and shakedown of the mower, the blades were loose and one center one fell off. After torquing the blades and checking the examining fasteners, I did notice the gearbox is exceptionally loud. The proper fluid type and level is correct, but compared to my 40 year old finish mower, this one is considerably more noisy. Almost like the gears are meshed too tightly. Following the first mow, I removed and sharpened the blades properly, as the edges were "defined" but not "refined". Following this, it mowed considerably smoother and clean cuts. All around, once you get used to the loud gearbox, it does a nice job on light grass.

Honestly kind of enjoyable to use. Feeds clean, cuts quick, stacks straight from the conveyor. Works even better than I expected...
